Mere weeks before Wavves was scheduled to release a collaborative album, Cherry Soda, with Say Anything, allegations of Max Bemis grooming and sexually abusing fans have derailed the project.
With Bemis having already canceled Say Anything's scheduled tour dates, Wavves' Nathan Williams took to Instagram to break his silence on the situation, holding nothing back in his disdain towards his former collaborator.
"yeah I've seen it. not sure what to say but fuck max. fuck say anything. I'm sorry yall," Williams wrote. "I Spent 11 months making this record and max spent 4 days so I dunno exactly what I'm supposed to do. I'm sorry guys."
Initially scheduled to be released on September 18 via I Surrender! Records, two songs for the project, "Deathx1k" and "Still Alive," were already released with corresponding music videos before Bemis's allegations came to light.
While only time will tell if Williams is able to make something out of the songs he spent nearly a year crafting, his statement pretty definitively declares that he won't be working with Bemis or any of his projects moving forward.
