Kendrick Lamar threw a birthday party for a fan following a dog attack

On March 19 of this year, then-6 year-old Romell Frazier Jr. suffered an attack by two pit bulls, resulting in the amputation of both his arms along with serious injuries to his legs. When his birthday came around this past July, his wish was for rapper Kendrick Lamar to visit him during his party — a wish that was fulfilled in its own way when he received a FaceTime call from Lamar.

Even after such a surprise, the gifts kept on coming. During the call, Lamar invited Frazier and his family to Los Angeles where they could meet and spend time with the rap superstar. Lamar stayed true to his promise, and on the week of August 23, Frazier along with his family flew from Michigan to L.A. for a second birthday party, along with trips to Disneyland and Universal Studios, Hollywood.

Preshauna Jones, Frazier's mother, assured reporters that her son has maintained a strong spirit through the tragedy, which Lamar himself said is part of what drew him to reaching out to Frazier in the first place, telling him, "You continue to be great, continue to keep a smile on your face man. You got a beautiful life to live."
