Yard Act share music video for new single, "New Beginnings"

Today, the UK art rock fit Yard Act have shared their latest single, "New Beginnings." The track, which features a new music video, will be featured on the band's upcoming third studio album, You're Gonna Need A Little Music, out July 17 via Republic Records. The Leeds fourpiece have also extended their North American tour to include a handful of new dates in the Midwest.

Watch/listen to "New Beginnings" below:

“‘New Beginnings’ is a bit of light to counteract the dark we led with," says front man and lyricist James Smith, referring to their previous, edgier single "Redeemer." He adds, "Sometimes we've already shed our old skin without even realising it's happening. Celebrate the new, because you can't go back.”

Continuing the themes of the upcoming record, You're Gonna Need A Little Music, the new single counterbalances the brittle iciness of the world around us with realistically uplifting lyrics. To try to appreciate the simpler pleasures of life, Smith urges in the chorus, "Purge yourself of sin / Resist the urge to grin / Spend your winnings / On new Beginnings / Breathe deep and take it in."

Aside from the North American tour extension, Yard Act have also added dates for record store-pop ups and headline shows in the UK around the time of the record's release on July 17. They'll also be attending this year's Riot Fest. Tickets are available now.
