Producer, singer, rapper, and visual artist Quadeca has officially shared his new single “Baby Steps” under his own label X8 Music.
Building on the surreal spontaneity and absurdist humor introduced by “Dark Magic,” the entirely self-produced track finds Quadeca wrestling with parenthood and the idea that it’s wrong to bring a child into a world that feels like it’s ending.

Directed by Quadeca and longtime collaborator Brendon Burton, the accompanying music video expands on the song's central ideas by contrasting two wildly different life paths. While one storyline follows a loving family moving into a new home and nurturing their newborn child, the other follows Quadeca as a small-time criminal whose increasingly chaotic decisions culminate in the robbery of that same family before he is ultimately caught, imprisoned, and launched into a fantastical escape attempt involving explosives and a relentless police dog pursuit.
