When Wavves' Nathan Williams revealed he was returning to the studio to salvage the remnants of his canceled album Cherry Soda with Max Bemis of Say Anything, the singer told fans to be on the lookout for "more announcements soon."

Fast forward less than two weeks and that day has come, with Williams announcing a new, re-tooled version of Cherry Soda featuring a new first single, "Pinesol," via I Surrender Records, who will be releasing the album on October 30. Listen below:

Discussing the genesis of the idea to take Wavves from the beach to the mall for an emo record before its release, Williams noted that when his curiosity came calling, he decided to see the project through.

“I’m a very curious person creatively,” Williams said via The SYN. “I wanted to see what an early 2000s Wavves emo record would sound like. That was the idea. To make a mall emo record.”

With the first two singles from the previous version of Cherry Soda, "Deathx1k" and "Still Alive," still available on Spotify, fans can still get a taste of the origional Say Anything collaboration. But after explicitly calling out Bemis for the allegations against him on social media, it's clear Wavves and Williams are moving forward in their own way.
