On Friday, September 4, Kid Cudi took the stage at Ye's second hometown show at Soldier Field in Chicago, publicly squashing their long-standing feud.

In a social media post the next day, on September 5, the New York radio host, Peter Rosenberg, criticized various entertainers and expressed disappointment in fans' forgiveness of Ye, after releasing a song titled "Heil Hitler," less than a year and a half ago.

Kid Cudi responded to Rosenberg with tact, reminding the popular radio host that he and Ye had cultivated a long-established relationship of almost two decades, as both friends and collaborators. Cudi refers to Ye as his "brother," clearing the air and admitting that Ye has sincerely apologized to him, taken full accountability, and is seemingly in a good space after years of struggling with his mental health. Cudi goes on to say that Ye reminds him now of the person that had signed him to G.O.O.D. Music 18 years ago.

Peter Rosenberg responded to Kid Cudi standing up for Ye, reiterating why he feels hesitant to support someone who had been publicly spewing anti-Semitic rhetoric, so recently. Rosenberg admitted that although he isn't particularly frustrated with Cudi, he still feels that the reinstated support for Ye has arrived a bit too soon.

As the final guest of the night, Ye brought on Kid Cudi to perform "Father Stretch My Hands, Pt. 1" together, along with a rendition of "Ghost Town," before ending his appearance with "Pursuit of Happiness." The pair's reunion marks the end of their most recent falling out, that began in 2022 when Kid Cudi remained friends with Pete Davidson while the comedian was dating Ye's ex-wife, Kim Kardashian.

Kid Cudi was just one guest from a long list of special appearances that Ye brought on for the second night of his Chicago homecoming.
