Today, the London-based collective and art punk band HMLTD have unveiled the details of their third album, FANGS. Out October 23 via Lucky Number, the record fully commits to their gothic, rave-influenced sound first explored on "Blitzkrieg," which came out last month. To celebrate their return, the band have shared "I Used To Ride In Limousines," as well as a music video directed by front man Henry Spychalski.

"One must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star," say HMLTD about "I Used To Ride In Limousines" in a press release. Jerking to a sleazy pop beat, the new single swings between states of failure and success, making peace with the former and "rejecting all instrumentalist notions of ‘success’ that subjugate life and the human experience itself to ‘success’ as an end goal." The band adds, "It's about rejecting the ego, and it's about rediscovering and redefining a sense of self-worth that is entirely one’s own."

On FANGS, the band behind the art punk debut West of Eden and the cultish rock opera The Worm have gone full EDM, abandoning the chamber arrangements for intense, gothic rave sound influenced by Bauhaus, Fad Gadget, and Suicide, as well as indietronica and bloghouse groups like Crystal Castles and Justice. Most importantly, after retreating to a château in France's Loire River Valley, HMLTD became entranced by vampires: their campiness in pop culture, their dreary isolation in literature, and their horror in folklore.

Last month, the band — promoting a new lineup of original founders Spychalski and Duc Peterman, as well as newcomers Theo Spark and Andrei Martynchyk — shared "Blitzkrieg," matching its electric energy with their new, self-dubbed sound of "Götherdammerüng," or "ÜberGöth." In short, it's a vampiric apocalypse.

On October 26, HMLTD will be playing at London's Club Cheek as an album release party. They'll also be headlining another local performance at the Village Underground on March 4, 2027. Tickets are available now.
