Chalk enter a harsh, techno frenzy with new single, "Get Fucked"

The Irish dance punk duo Chalk have returned today with "Get Fucked," a relentless new single that tears apart the mundanity of life with harsh, hardcore techno beats. It comes with an intense, new music video, directed and edited by Matt Spratt.

Watch/listen to "Get Fucked" below:

"Get Fucked" was originally written for the duo's debut album Crystalpunk, which was released earlier this March via ALTER Music. "We didn’t work it out in time," said the band via press release, "and so it sat for a while until we worked on it with [KETTAMA, co-producer], who gave it a new lease of life from the demo to the track."

"We met KETTAMA last year at our London show at Village Underground and ended up being big fans of each other’s work,” the band added.

Crystalpunk established the Belfast duo of Benedict Goddard and Ross Cullen as an arresting force to be reckoned with, providing songs that flow between deafening hardcore rock, pure techno, and streamlined EBM. "Get Fucked" turns the dial up even more, turning a message about abandoning the stifling pressure of work and life into a ferocious anthem for losing oneself at the club.

While the duo have finished the main bulk of their promotional tour, they'll be heading to London on July 24 to headline the Electric Ballroom. They'll also be attending festivals around the world, including Chicago's Lollapalooza on July 30. Tickets are available now.
