Hey everyone, it's Uncle Music, and here are some albums I have been enjoying a whole lot lately.
First off, new Phoebe Bridgers record: Lost Weekend. I know you've been hearing about it again and again and again.... Well you're gonna hear about it ONE MORE TIME, because this thing is easily the singer-songwriter record of the year.
It is haunting, it is heart-wrenching, wonderful lyrics, ghostly and surreal production, Phoebe's most versatile tracklist ever, instrumentally, and I think she really hit the nail on the head with this one. Best record so far, what more can I say?
Also been loving, miraculously, the new Interpol album. Hold on, what?
Interpol knocking it out of the park in 2026? Are you kidding me? This is like literally their best album since the 2000s. Not only are there some quality rockers and bangers on this thing, but even the slow burners are amazing too, with a lot of grim textures and instrumentation that are kind of eerily beautiful.
Of course, been enjoying the new Open Mike Eagle album, DOOMED!. Kenny Segal provided some killer production on this one, and I, of course, love the kind of breakup concept that Mike runs through lyrically on this one. Definitely his most entertaining album in years.
And finally, shout out to the new Denzel Curry and Kenneth Blume collaboration, ii. It's short, it's sweet, it's to the point, it's bop after bop. Under 30 minutes of all killer, no filler.
And there you go. That's what I've been enjoying. What have you been enjoying? Let me know.
What do you think?
