Texas progressive death metal duo Sallow Moth have announced their forthcoming album Hydrophilous Brood, due out July 24 via Willowtip Records.

In conjunction with the announcements, the duo — composed of multi-instrumentalist mastermind Garry Brents and drummer Allan Gingerich — has also released a single titled “Distended in Panglacial Advent,” available below:

Taking place in a dimensional nest known as Pamugara, Hydrophilous Brood is immersed in a lush world where organisms are rematerialized into a new hybrid species after passing through a powerful portal, a highly unpredictable artifact known as the Mossbane Lantern, explored in the 2005 album of the same name.

The band’s upcoming fourth album marks the first album with a live studio drummer, as Gingerich gives Brents the “oomph” his fans have long waited for.

Recorded, mixed, and mastered by Brents at his home studio in Arlington, Texas, Hydrophilous Brood features eight tracks and eight guest appearances from collaborators, including Corey Peterson, Dan Wolfson, David Norman, Evan Sadler, Laela Clark, Ola, Simon Joseph and Tucker Spellane.
