Sufjan Stevens announces 'Carrie and Lowell' 10th anniversary double-LP

On March 31, 2015, Sufjan Stevens released his critically acclaimed, seventh studio album Carrie and Lowell. Now, ten years to the date, the indie singer-songwriter has announced that he will be releasing a deluxe version of the record on May 30 through his label, Asthmatic Kitty.

The deluxe record will be a double-LP, including seven demo versions of previously unreleased recordings: the demo versions of album tracks "Death With Dignity", "Should Have Known Better", "Eugene", and "The Only Thing"; a fourth version of "Fourth of July"; a second version of the track "Wallowa Lake Monster"; and a previously unreleased demo of "Mystery of Love", which was written for the 2017 film, Call Me By Your Name.

The anniversary album also contains a 40-page art book filled with old family photographs, original artwork, and snapshots from the artist's travels across the country while touring for the record. Stevens has also written and included a new essay reflecting on Carrie and Lowell, family, and grief, according to a press release.

The Carrie and Lowell: 10th Anniversary Edition also features an alternative cover, which reveals the origins of the photograph of the titular figures: a polaroid taken and signed by Stevens' sister, Djamilah. Check out the new cover and tracklist below:
