Following her 2024 breakout debut What A Devastating Turn of Events, as well as its Brit rock follow-up EP Little House, London pop artist Rachel Chinouriri returns with I think I spoke too soon, out October 16 via Parlophone Records/Atlas Artists. She also shares the lead single "One song away from crying," as well as upcoming tour dates across the US, UK, Europe, and Australia.

"'One song away from crying' is about the precipice of a night out where you know you need to leave and have to make a decision," says Chinouriri in a press release about the new track, a wavy synth pop tune that undercuts the snaps of the pulse with the singer-songwriter's signature airy, silken vocals. Trying to dance away her insecurity, she notes: "It's a deeper decision because it's less about the night itself but more about a reflection of a deeper internal conflict with your self value that you haven't looked at yet."

I think I spoke too soon compresses Rachel Chinouriri's formative years into a single night out, imagining all the different versions of herself dancing together on the floor. It emphasizes shifts: "My core thing is you can change who you are at any moment and you can forgive yourself at any moment," she adds. "I think forgiving yourself is the first step in becoming a better person."

On a social media post, she gives more detail on the subject matter of her new record. Documenting her life from ages 22 to 27, she explains: "I talk about many things, figuring out my sobriety, the transformation of my inner and outer worlds, femininity, relationships and so much more...Let loose , dance, move, cry and if you want all at the same time!"

Her new album was written and recorded across London, Hereford, and Los Angeles with longtime collaborators APOB, Mary Weitz, Glen Roberts, and Daniel Hylton-Nuamah. Lucy Dacus and Eli Teplin are also credited on the making of the record, according to the official press release.

Rachel Chinouriri has also announced a handful of live dates across the US, UK, Europe, and Australia, where she'll be doing a run of headline shows in select cities. Next month, she will also make an appearance at Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields Festival, and she'll be supporting Gracie Abrams on her winter North American tour.
