California singer-songwriter Quadeca has released a new song called "Dark Magic," his first single of 2026 and possibly the first taste of his rumored upcoming album Life1.

Directed and edited by Quadeca and longtime collaborator Brendan Burton, "Dark Magic" is is a sharp stylistic pivot for for the singer from the sprawling, atmospheric soundscapes of his previous albums.

The track hits the web shortly after Quadeca's performance at Kilby Block Party, where he closed out the Desert Stage alongside his live band. TND News writers Leah and Drew were there to document the festivities, as shown below:

The video for "Dark Magic" follows the critically acclaimed artist traveling through South Carolina in a wooden house mounted atop a pickup truck, gathering locals into an increasingly bizarre woodland celebration. The video, which could double as a short film, closes on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, where Quadeca hoists a grotesque orb of intertwined limbs above his head as NPCs casually stroll past.

The follow-up to his 2025 album Vanisher, Horizon Scraper, Quadeca's upcoming fifth album Life1 is rumored to be announced sometime this summer.
