At their Hollywood Bowl performance on Halloween Eve, Gerard Way finally told My Chemical Romance fans what they've been dying to hear: a new album is officially on the way.

In Way's between-song banter, the frontman straightforwardly told the crowd, "Next year we want to go make a record." Way added that the band will largely go quiet on the concert front next year because of the new album: "Hopefully we'll see you guys in 2028."

TND reported on the initial rumblings of a new MCR record in September when Way told fans at a show in San Antonio, "You guys deserve another record, and we'd love to make it."

So, it would appear that the New Jersey-based group is serious about delivering fans their first new album since 2010. Since 2010's Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys, the band has released scattered singles, with the most recent being 2022's "The Foundations of Decay."

The band will wrap up the North American dates of their The Black Parade tour on Halloween night at the Hollywood Bowl. The group will then move to the international dates of the celebratory tour.
