Towards the close of the 2025 Grammy Awards, "Not Like Us" rapper Kendrick Lamar secured the honor for Song of the Year at the 2025 Grammy Awards for the smash hit (and Drake-accused botted) diss track. The award was presented by Diana Ross – who left Lamar speechless when accepting an award from the Queen of Motown – shortly after Lamar received recognition for Record of the Year, also for the same song.
This brought the total number of awards won by "Not Like Us" over the course of the night to five, equaling Drake's lifetime Grammy number with one track. With these five wins that brings Lamar's total to 22, leaving him only two behind Jay-Z and Kanye West.
In his acceptance speech, he acknowledged the West Coast artists who have influenced his work and reiterated the significance of rap within the broader musical landscape.

“Nothing is more powerful than rap music. We are the culture,” Lamar remarked. He also encouraged emerging artists to respect the craft, asserting that doing so would aid their journeys in the industry.
On stage, DJ Mustard, who contributed to the production of "Not Like Us," noted Lamar's sweep of all categories he was nominated in. Lamar's nominations included Song of the Year, Record of the Year, Best Rap Performance, Best Rap Song, and Best Music Video, all pertaining to the 2024 release.
For the Song of the Year category, Lamar faced competition from tracks by Shaboozey, Billie Eilish, Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift and Post Malone, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Beyoncé.
The 2025 Grammy Awards took place on February 2 in Los Angeles and featured performances from several nominees, including Eilish, Gaga, Mars, Roan, and Carpenter. The event was hosted by Trevor Noah.
