British pop star Harry Styles just completed a 30-day residency at Madison Square Garden. Beginning on August 26, 2026, the residency sold nearly 600,000 tickets overall. And the "Watermelon Sugar" singer partnered with the nonpartisan organization HeadCount during his massive events.
This masterclass in FOMO marketing allowed fans to receive special, limited-edition "Together, Together" postcards after registering to vote. Volunteers helped fans get ready for the Midterm elections.
Styles and his fans' efforts led to a major uptick in voter registrations, with 33,284 reported. HeadCount also reported an astounding 108,061 voter actions after the Styles residency wrapped.
This isn't the first partnership between Styles and HeadCount. In 2022, the pair ran a "Good to Vote" campaign, which generated 54,000 new registrations. Concerts are exceptionally effective places to drive voter registration. In this case, HeadCount targeted high-traffic concourses throughout the venue. MSG has a venue capacity of approximately 20,000 attendees. Strategically, this allows for thousands of interactions by the time the doors open at each show.
Other artists who have partnered with HeadCount this year include Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter. The visibility of these singers suggests that large conversion rates are possible for new voter registrations. However, registering alone does not prove ballot submission. Registered voters must either mail in ballots or go to local, in-person polling places.
Still, this major turnout is optimistic for today's Midterm election. You can find local polling locations here.
The partnership between HeadCount and Harry Styles is expected to extend into 2027, for his newly announced United States and Canadian tour dates, which you can see below:
