Continuing to ride the wave of acclaim from last year's album Last Night I Heard the Dog Star Bark, "Welsh primitive" guitarist Gwenifer Raymond is back with news of a freshly inked deal with Fat Possum Records and her first new music of the year.

Out today, "Bird Songs for Atomic Skies" is described by Raymond in a press release as:

"...a mutant rag, a blues gone awry. Lyrebirds are perched in irradiated nests and have grown new heads. Foxes bark in the night, but the barks are all wrong. This song is an assembly of sounds run through the wringer of an atomic age; New limbs are springing up by the hour."

Following her recent performance at the 2026 Welsh Music Prize, the Brighton-based musician is back on tour across North America from tomorrow. She'll play 11 dates with The Tallest Man on Earth before joining the sold-out Geese tour from November 1 through November 13. A European headline tour follows from November 16 through to next year.
