Father John Misty leans further into psychedelic rock on his new single “The Payoff,” out via Sub Pop. The single is his second of 2026, following January’s “The Old Law.”

Josh Tillman wrote and composed the track, and co-produced it alongside frequent collaborator Drew Erickson. You can listen to the new track below.

Tillman has also extended his international headlining and festival tour schedule for 2026, which resumes Thursday, May 14th in Aspen, CO. Fan presales for the new dates begin Wednesday, May 13th at 10 am BST, with on-sale to the general public on Friday, May 15th at 10 am BST. See the full list of dates and grab tickets below.
