Ed Sheeran's current North American tour, "The Loop," has produced a blizzard of headlines after supporting act Macklemore was dismissed from the lineup due to his onstage support of Palestine. Following Macklemore's abrupt departure, fellow supporting musician Aaron Rowe has left the tour of his own accord.
In an Instagram post, which you can see below, Rowe explained that his decision to withdraw partially came about after reflecting on his Irish roots. "As Irish people we know all too well about genocide, forced famine and violent occupation."
Furthermore, Rowe criticized billionaire venue owner Robert Kraft for his role in Macklemore's elimination from the bill. "I cannot stand by and allow billionaires to use their position of power to silence the rightful voices of those who speak up against Israeli genocide," Rowe wrote.
He concluded the post with the same two words that got Macklemore into hot water: "Free Palestine."
