It seems Drake is now facing accusations of preventing Kendrick Lamar's now-infamous diss track "Not Like Us" from being played in clubs in Houston.
A Houston DJ going by the name DJ Ari disclosed that he had encountered issues while playing the song at certain venues, shedding light on the purported ban on the track
Various individuals took to X, previously known as Twitter, echoing similar claims of Drake allegedly restricting the song at clubs like Sekai, Clé, Prospect Park, and Kamp in Houston.
Although the extent of Drake's involvement in this alleged ban remains unclear, the Toronto rapper has had a longstanding connection with Houston since early in his career. Drake's ties to the city trace back to being discovered by Jas Prince, the son of J. Prince, the well-known founder of Rap-A-Lot Records. Over the years, Drake has cultivated a close relationship with the influential hip-hop family and has treated Houston as a second home.
Last year, Drake invested in a $15 million estate, The Inn at Dos Brisas, located near Houston in Chappell Hill, Texas, showing his affinity for the area. His recent visit to Texas included a stop at the Brenham Saddle Shop, where he was seen shopping for cowboy gear, further solidifying his ties to the Lone Star State.
The alleged banning of Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" track in Houston, supposedly involving Drake, has raised questions and speculation within the music community. Despite lacking concrete evidence of Drake's direct involvement, the accusations have sparked interest and discussions among fans and industry circles.
