It was a historic night in Texas after the state flipped from red to blue for the first time in years.

One day after the 2026 midterms, Doja Cat brought her Tour Ma Vie World Tour to Dallas, performing at the American Airlines Center with special guest Latto.

Midway through Doja Cat’s set, she performed her hit song “Paint The Town Red,” slightly tweaking the lyrics to “paint the town blue” as blue lighting took over the stage. 

“I let all that get to my head / I don’t care, I paint the town blue,” she raps. During the second time she sang it, she gave the Dallas crowd a chance to repeat it back to her.

Texas celebrated their part of the blue wave that spread across the country. James Talarico turned the Texas Senate blue after defeating Ken Paxton. Gina Hinojosa also made history as the first democratic governor in more than 30 years, ousting Greg Abbott, and became the state's first Latina governor.
