Masked frontman and guitarist Fatboy, drummer Korey Thomas, and bassist Dara Abdurahman sculpt vignettes as BRICKNASTY of grief and desire into a woozy, hypnotic track, accompanied by glitchy visuals that fuse vintage PS2 aesthetics with futuristic stop-motion animation. The release follows last month’s “bobinov,” which introduced the surreal, hallucinatory visual language marking a new chapter in the band’s lineage.

Both “honey bee” and “bobinov” channel transatlantic, universal tropes of addiction and unrequited love that exist in Dublin’s suburbs and far beyond.

Last year, BRICKNASTY charged into Dublin’s burgeoning alternative scene with their EP Black’s Law, which wrestled with bruised faith in systems and people while staying fiercely committed to collectivism and hope. It caught the attention of André 3000, Loyle Carner, and NOTION, which awarded them Best New Alternative at its inaugural New Music Awards.
