Today, the hyperfolk duo @ (pronounced 'At') have released "Bird," the third single off their upcoming album, Autosmile, out October 16 via 4AD. They've also revealed upcoming tour dates for a 2027 North American tour, which begins in the hometown of Philadelphia before heading to cities across North America.

"This song was inspired by dead baby birds that kept appearing on my deck. It was written on a bike ride through Druid Hill Park in Baltimore," says @'s Stone Filipczak via press release. Grounded by a meditative acoustic guitar loop, mellow vocal harmonies, and a warm clarinet passage, the single muses death and release through intricate wordplay, balancing the morbid with more playful imagery.

The accompanying music video takes on the spirit of a homemade, surrealist film, flashing a full-body transformation into a bird through dream sequences. "I liked the song’s mix of funniness and macabre. The week I started planning this video, a beautiful black and white bird died on my own balcony," Arthur explains. "I heard the song, then saw the bird on my own balcony with the video taking shape in my mind; all a strange and dreamlike sequence. I am an advocate of finding beauty in sadness and dark things, instead of staying away from them."

The band's headlining North American tour follows their support of both YHWH Nailgun and This Is Lorelei, as well as a run of dates in the UK and Europe. Beginning in January in Philadelphia, PA, @ will be on tour throughout the United States and Canada until the end of February. Tickets will go on sale this Friday, January 18, at 10 am local time.
