Today, the Brighton, UK-based alternative folk quartet ladylike have shared "Borrowed Time," along with an accompanying music video. Their new single is their first piece of new music since the release of their debut EP, It's a Pleasure of Mine, to Know You're Fine, which came out last March via Heist or Hit.

The music video for "Borrowed Time" splices scenic routes captured on grainy camcorders and studio sessions of the band, who recorded the new single in a renovated chapel in South East Wales. Watch/listen to it below:

On the new single, vocalist and guitarist Georgia Butler notes that it "is loosely
about losing contact with someone and how time goes by, your lives are separate and you never quite get back to the same place at the same time," per a press release. Co-produced with Balázs Altsach (Ugly, The Orchestra (For Now)), "Borrowed Time" was written and recorded in a three-week stretch, with all band members present for the tracking. It takes a slowcore approach to folk composition: oscillating between rushes of folk guitar and quiet, buzzing passages of Butler's soft vocals.

The band have a run of upcoming tour dates in the UK, including a couple supporting slots for the slowcore band Shaking Hand. Tickets are available now.
