Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and his wife Bianca Censori have filed a formal notice of intent to sue his former dentist, Dr. Thomas Connelly, the so-called "father of diamond dentistry."
In the letter, they announced that "they are suing him for medical malpractice, gross negligence, fraud, exploitation, abandonment, psychological and emotional trauma, reckless administration of controlled and uncontrolled substances and other malicious and deceitful behaviors."
The issues stem from a procedure in which Dr. Connelly performed oral surgery on Ye to install a custom titanium crown. Following this, the dentist engaged in the "excessive administration of nitrous oxide," and "attempted to seize control of global music and fashion brand Yeezy LLC while its principal Ye was incapacitated with a cocktail of controlled and uncontrolled substances." Dr. Connelly allegedly overcharged Ye for nitrous, billing him around $50,000 a month for the gas. He promoted unsupervised self-administration of nitrous oxide as well, which caused long-lasting repercussions.
Ye suffered severe injuries and damages ranging from "psychological and emotional trauma," to a chemical dependency that required ongoing treatment. He further claims to have suffered financial harm and marriage troubles as a result too.
