I LOVE THESE ALBUMS!!!

One, this new SML album, Spontaneous Music Live. These guys are a California band and this album is a 40-minute-plus experience. Two tracks, both of which are 20 minutes each, and are both just different complete improv sessions between the whole group as they find ways to progress this piece forward, communicating musically using influences that range from minimalist rock to kraut rock to jazz that have me locked in from start to finish.

Also wanna give a shout out to Kelsey Lu on their new record over here, which I am also loving. Just lavish, gorgeous, stunning fusions of soul, jazz, and art pop. There's some Jack Antonoff production on this thing too, which is very tasteful. Just one of the most spellbinding listens you are gonna have in 2026. I guarantee it.

And then finally, one last big shout out to the one and only Tierra Whack, one of Philly's finest lyricists of all time, in my opinion, who has come through with a rap-only mixtape where honestly I've been replaying this thing to death and have been getting some of the best bars I've heard in a long time out of it. More people better start recognizing this woman's talent because the future is Whack.

And you know what? That's going to be it for now. Those are the records I am enjoying the most as of late.

Yeah, love you. Mwah.

What do you think?
