Drake Hates Me

Well, I'm on a list. We are talking about something very urgent in today's video. I'm Anthony Fantano, the internet's busiest music nerd. You may know me, you may not. And if you don't, why not pull up a chair and get the chance to know me a little more, huh?

I've been around the internet for a minute now, you could say, doing all sorts of album reviews of music from across the mainstream, the underground, so on and so forth. And yep, been doing this for a long time, and gained quite a bit of views and subscribers in the process. And despite my best efforts, I have to admit, over the years, I've made a few enemies.

This isn't something that I set out to do. I was not trying to make this happen. It was just a natural occurrence that occurred in the midst of me just doing my work, doing my job, and being a little silly here and there. Which brings me to a recently surfaced list, and that would essentially be this alphabetical grouping of all of Drake's "opps", which I will get more into in a second.

50 Cent unveils ‘Drake Opp List’ during interview
Rap mogul 50 Cent displays the ‘Drake Opp Page’ with names ranging from musicians, media personalities, and even The Needle Drop’s very own Anthony Fantano.

Yes, much to my shock, O.P.P. does in fact not stand for one pretty awesome person. And it's actually short for something more in the realm of opponent or opposition. I don't want to be Drake's opposition. But if I have to be, then I have no choice but to enact legal action against Dr. Drake, PhD. I'm not going to just sit here and be opposed for no reason.

Dr. Drake

Now, a lot of you guys may be asking, what is this list? Where is this list? How did you even hear of it? Well, it turns out famed rapper, 15 Cent, went on the Big Boy podcast, which is a little confusing as far as I know. He is, in fact, a man, not a big boy. A lot of confusing terminology here, but follow me.15 Cent went on this radio show and was talking about the recent beef – that's a hip hop for argument – this recent beef, Drake had with one Mr. Kendrick Lamar. Yes, that was a point of discussion. And I guess in the midst of this conversation, 15 Cent brought up what is allegedly an opp list of Dr. Drake, PhD.

Big Boy: Busta, Fat Joe, is the Ja Rule, is it deeper?
50 Cent: No, it's the same thing that you see Drake experiencing. How did he just have... This is the opp page. He was just winning consistently more than everybody else in the culture. Then these people start to turn into people that feel like they're opps all over the page, because they keep watching him win.

It's in alphabetical order, and I imagine the reason why is because there are a lot of people on this list, a lot of people to keep track of, don't want to lose anybody in the commotion. I get it. But that means that essentially, yes, I am pretty high on the top, which means I get opp priority.

And look, if that means I have to file a civil suit in all of our names so that we all stay protected, we're all together in this, then I will because I feel like it's important to protect my honor and the honor of everyone involved here on this list.

Now, let's go over some of the names here just so we know who Drake is opposing. I'm not going to hit upon everybody here, but I do think it is important to discuss what exactly Drake's gripe is with all the people involved in this list.

All right, starting at the top, we have Ab-Soul, who I imagine Drake doesn't really like because he doesn't have a soul. So of course, he would end up on the list. We also have Adidas in the mix here, which Drake famously does not like sportswear of any kind. So I imagine that's probably why they're on the list.

I'm here because Drake has really a tough time with YouTube content. He does not like YouTube content. If you're really looking to get on Drake's bad side, just get a camera, get a microphone, say something into the camera, record it, upload it to the internet. And, Drake, you're going to be on his shit list just like that.

We have Busta Rhymes, who does actually, if you look him up for anybody who's unfamiliar, he does bust quite a few rimes, which Drake does not really do or do all that well. So I imagine that probably has something to do with why he's upset with the man. Charlamagne tha God, Drake, famously, is not really all that into religion, very much a big, big, capital A, atheist. So anybody who's godly or spiritual in any sense, he's not going to vibe with.

Moving further down the list here, we have Donald Glover, who is a very famous musician and actor, Drake, not very big on acting, does not like the act of acting, you could say. He's very famously anti-acting in all forms and all sorts. So I imagine that's how Donald Glover here landed on the opp list.

EbonyPrince is also on the list here. Drake, very much anti-monarchy. From what I've read, his politics are more like anarcho-syndicalist. So of course, he would take issue with a prince of any sort. Okay, we have Joe Budden, JPEGMafia, Kanye West, and Kendrick Lamar. I imagine all these people who are on the list here are just because he doesn't really like music all that much. So Drake is trying to just cover as many music bases as he can. He's like, Who can I think of who just makes music? Here's a bunch of people that make music. I don't like them because they're just musicians. Pusha T, Playboi Cardi, Roddy Rich, Schoolboy Q. He just doesn't like any music. I mean, he even lumped Roc-A-Fella Records, the Grammys, the BET Awards as well, the MTV VMAs into the mix, too, because he just really wants to bring home the point that just music to him is bad. He doesn't want to have anything to do with it. Music is his enemy.

Also, Kid Cudi. Famously, Drake does not like kids. He's very much anti-kid, doesn't want to have anything to do with kids. I mean, Drake doesn't even really like sports because he also goes at the NBA and the NFL on this opp list, too, which I imagine might be because of that inherent Canadian bias that he has against any sport that is not hockey.

And also The Weeknd. Drake is a rise and grind guy. He doesn't like the weekend. He doesn't like resting. He doesn't like taking days off. He's a weekday man. He likes working. He likes being engaged, having something to do. And you're not going to do that when every day that you're living is a weekend day. That's just not Drake's time to shine.

Look, all of these things and concepts and and organizations and societal constructs that Drake is listing in this opp list. Listen, I feel bad for them. I'm not just saying this because I'm on the list. I feel like for the most part, these people, places, and things have done nothing to receive Drake's ire. I mean, I understand the man has some preferences and some biases, maybe some very negative experiences here and there with these things listed, but that's no reason to make an entire opp list.

And as a result of that, I feel like I'm going to have to contact a lawyer of some sort, some legal representation, and maybe file a suit under California Opp List law because none of us did anything to be on this list. We need to be removed from this list immediately. It's unfair, it's unjust, it's illegal. And I wouldn't even be surprised if 15 cent over here, because he showed everyone the list, he's going to end up on the list now, too. And that's why I'm putting my foot down.

Okay, Drake? No more lists. No more. I demand justice. I demand freedom from this list. And you know what? I'm going to get it for me and everyone else that you've listed, let me know what you guys think of this list down in the comments. Maybe list out your own ops if you want to do that. You guys are the best. And if you are good for the rest of this week, you may, in fact, end up on Santa's nice list and not the naughty list.

Anthony Fantano. List. Forever.
