Westside Gunn, the Buffalo MC and co-founder of Griselda Records, has just announced that he has a hardcore band titled DISSENSION and premiered a snippet of their first song "BLACK HOLE" through posts on Instagram and X.
The minute-long video features Oyat Otto (@oyat.otto), a former prisoner who shares videos of himself moshing to hardcore punk and metalcore on his Instagram and TikTok. All of his videos are shot from inside his cell, including the video for "BLACK HOLE". His other videos include songs like Paramore's "Decode" and Black Veil Brides' "Knives and Pens". Otto was released from prison on January 21, 2025, judging by this video he released on Instagram.
In Gunn's announcement post, he implies that he has another video with DISSENSION in progress that features Otto. Aside from that implication, no other information about DISSENSION is available, including who is in the band or when they plan to release new music. Plus, since the vocals are quite distinct from Gunn's usual delivery, it's not even clear whether he's providing them. He could be the guitarist, bassist, or drummer.
