Westside Gunn has changed his retirement plans, at least for now. The Buffalo rapper has announced HEELMATIC, a new 16-track album arriving November 13 through Griselda Records and Mass Appeal.

The announcement comes with a music video for “Zilla,” one of the project's tracks, and an explanation of how an entirely different album came together.

Gunn had previously planned to release Awesome God 3 as his final solo record. But after seeing Mass Appeal's Legend series, he decided to create something new instead.

“I said fuck that for the culture I wanna make a whole new tape,” he wrote on X.

Rather than recording in one location, Gunn assembled HEELMATIC while traveling, with sessions taking place near the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Acropolis in Athens, the Saucony offices, Berlin, and Chicago. He described the resulting music as “grimey, dusty, raw, mixed w/ jazz but it sounds like gospel.”

The album's tracklist continues Gunn's affection for wrestling references, designer fashion, and eccentric song titles, with selections including “Grant Heel,” “Tommy Heelfiger,” “Egyptian Cadillac,” and “Bottom Bunk Legends.”

His last solo project, Heels Have Eyes 3, arrived in October 2025, closing out a year that also included 12 and the first two installments of Heels Have Eyes. The series shares its name with Gunn's wrestling-inspired live events, which he has developed alongside his Fourth Rope wrestling promotion.

For HEELMATIC, he has enlisted Mass Appeal, the label behind the Legend Has It series that inspired him to abandon his original release plans.

The newly announced album will end his longest break between solo projects in recent years, although Gunn has yet to reveal its featured artists or full production credits.
