Today, the duo Water From Your Eyes shared "Playing Classics", the second single off their upcoming record, It's A Beautiful Place. This comes a month before the album's release on August 22 via Matador Records.
Watch the James Dayton-directed video for "Playing Classics" below:
Members Nate Amos and Rachel Brown composed the track intentionally as a lengthy dance and disco-inspired piece. "'Playing Classics' started as an attempt to transform an existing guitar piece that I had stalled on into a dance number after Rachel requested that the next album have a disco song on it," said Amos via press release. Brown added, "I love disco and dance music and I had been begging him to make a super dance targeted track. I was focusing on the idea of dancing in a club despite the world falling apart outside." The song was written in 2024 and inspired by Charli xcx's Brat, according to the duo.
It's A Beautiful Place comes out next month via Matador Records. Water From Your Eyes will also kick off a promotional tour this coming September, performing in venues across North America, the UK, and Europe. Her New Knife, Winter, and Dutch Interior will support them during their North American leg. Tickets are available now.
