In addition to this news, the band - made up of Tunde Adebimpe, Kyp Malone, and David Sitek, and Jaleel Bunton - is also reissuing their debut album for its 20th anniversary. This special 2xLP edition comes with a slightly shuffled tracklist, including five bonus tracks as well as the original vinyl- and mp3-only closer, "You Could Be Love". You can listen to the bonus track "Final Fantasy" (which is an early demo of album track "Bomb Yourself") now:

The band rose to prominence in the 2000s, with modern classic albums under their belt like Return to Cookie Mountain and Dear Science. Their last album, Seeds, came out in 2014. It was their first (and, to date, only) album after their longtime bassist Gerard Smith passed away from lung cancer in 2011.

In the intervening years, Adebimpe has kept busy with his acting career, appearing in film such as Nasty Baby, Spider-man: Homecoming, and, most recently, Twisters. Malone also dabbled in acting (appearing in the films Doors in 2021) and continued working on and composing music, including playing synth on jazz experimentalist Matana Roberts's last album, Coin Coin Chapter Five: In the Garden. Sitek, of course, has had ample work as a go-to producer, contributing to work from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Weezer's Black Album, Chelsea Wolfe, and more. Bunton has worked frequently with Reverend Vince Anderson & His Love Choir, a collective based in New York, who recently had a show with surprise guest Cat Power.

Sitek, unfortunately, will be unable to play the shows. He is still in the band, according to the group's representative.

No word yet on future plans or releases, but for now, this news is sure to excite many TV on the Radio fans.
