Tunng announce new album 'Love You All Over Again', share new song

Experimental art-folk auteurs Tunng have announced a brand new album, Love You All Over Again, out January 24 via Full Time Hobby. It's the first album from the self-described "pagan folktronica" group since 2020's Dead Club.

The band has also shared the first single, "Didn't Know Why", along with a video by Juliet Bryant. Watch/listen below:

On the new album (which will be released 20 years on from their debut record), Tunng front man Mike Lindsay had this to say:

“I went back to the first two albums just to listen to how we fused genres – things like Davy Graham, Pentangle, the Expanding Records catalogue and the Wicker Man soundtrack. Over the years, Tunng’s sound has varied and twisted, but at the root there is always a flavour of what Sam and I made on that first album. Rather than searching for a new avenue we went back to what we used to do, which, after all this time, felt like it was a new avenue... Love You All Over Again is our way of coming full circle.

For Tunng to work, it has to feel surprising, odd and unpredictable, and the new album has all that. It’s all about Tunng being back, as a family, within our original boundaries, bringing the love to all who have been a part of our journey over 20 years.”

Though it's been almost five years since the last Tunng album, Lindsay has kept busy. He put out his solo debut this year with June's Supershapes Vol. 1. He has also maintained his side project LUMP with singer-songwriter Laura Marling, who put out their sophomore record, Animal, in 2021.

Love You All Over Again is out January 24. Preorder it here.
