Titanic share single "La Dueña" from newly announced album 'Hagen'

Titanic – the project of composer-couple Héctor Tosta (I. la Católica) and Mabe Fratti – has recently announced its second LP Hagen, following 2023's debut album Vidrio. The album will come out on September 5th via Unheard Of Hope.

Hot on the heels of lead single "Gotera" – which came out last Friday – comes "La Dueña", accompanied by a music video directed by José Ostos.

Watch and listen below:

Tosta on "La Dueña":

"This song was made in a very particular way. I remember that we were in Austria waiting backstage to do a show as an opener for Ben Howard. As we were waiting there I was playing the guitar just to warm up for the show but noodling around and fell in love with a very simple progression of chords. A progression that I have played a millions of times and you can find it in a millions of songs but I don't know why in that particular time I fell in love with it. I didn't even need it to record it on my phone because it was so popular that it was going to be impossible to forget. Then when we finished the tour we were in the airplane going back to México and I started to write in my notebook a lot of options of a heartbroken elegant and classic old lady that felt betrayed by love. In that year I was going very often to a karaoke bar in Mexico called el Timon de Cortez and I just realized how good it feels to sing with all your heart a ballad. Then when I sat on the piano it was very easy to organize all those chords and all the lyrics."

Hagen features contributions by Daniel Lopatin (Oneohtrix Point Never), Nat Salon and Eli Kezler, among others. It was recently announced that Mabe Fratti will also feature on the new Blood Orange album Essex Honey this year.

Titanic will perform a series of live shows this summer and fall, including some dates with Black Country, New Road and Caroline. Check out the full list of dates down below.
