The White Stripes retract lawsuit against Donald Trump

The White Stripes' Jack and Meg White sued Donald Trump for using their song "Seven Nation Army" in a social media video promoting his campaign back in September. The duo declared it "flagrant misappropriation" of the iconic hit. The lawsuit hit Trump's campaign with six counts of federal copyright infringement, with the pair looking for injunctive relief and damages.

Now, though, the Stripes have changed their tune. On Sunday, November 10th, the rockers had the lawsuit "dismissed without prejudice." This distinction means that the band reserves the right to re-file the lawsuit in the future, at their discretion. See the updated first page of the court document here.

Following Trump's defeat of Kamala Harris last week, White referred to the 78-year-old as an "obvious fascist" and called it "dumbfounding that this con man succeeded in pulling the wool over so many Americans [sic] eyes not once, but twice."
