The Null Club shares clamorous track "Slip Angle" featuring Mandy, Indiana's Valentine Caulfield, announces EP

The Null Club, the solo project of Gilla Band's Alan Duggan Borges, has announced a new self-titled EP, which involves collaborations with The Horrors' Faris Badwan and Armand Hammer's ELUCID.

"Slip Angle", the first track unveiled, features vocalist Valentine Caulfield of Mandy, Indiana. The track unfolds like a demonic doomsday clock, jam-packed with eroded synths, hissing static, and gnarly post-industrial percussion.

Listen below:

Borges on the collaboration with Caulfield:

"This would be the most techno inspired track. I tired to mix techno and noise with this one. I first saw Mandy, Indiana in Manchester at the psych fest in 2021. We managed to say hello, and from there I reached out to Val to see if she would be interested in working on the track. Thankfully she was into it. I sent her on the instrumental and she came back with rough vocals using the mic from headphones for phones. We rerecorded the vocals in her home in Manchester in 2021 surrounded by her cats, but actually kept some of the headphone takes in the track. "

The Null Club is the Gilla Band guitarist's production vehicle where he operates and experiments outside of the confines of a band set-up. The EP was mixed by fellow Gilla Band member Daniel Fox and mastered by Jamie Hyland of (M(h)aol).

Pre-order a copy of the EP here, which is pressed on a limited run of 500 12” white label records.

Furthermore, "Slip Angle" isn't the only Mandy, Indiana-featured project released this week. Just yesterday, guitarist and producer Scott Fair dropped the single "class valedictorian" under the moniker Set Dressing, which you can check out here.

The Null Club has announced a handful of live dates in Ireland and the UK to perform tracks from the EP and some unreleased material.
