The Academy Is... have given us a new look into their upcoming record Almost There with the new single "Miracle". The track comes a month before the release of the alt rock band's record — their first since 2008's Fast Times at Barrington High — on March 27 via I Surrender Records.
Listen to "Miracle" below:
Playing on the album's themes of nostalgia and looking at the past through an older, more retrospective lens, "Miracle" begins with a rush of guitars and drums reminiscent of the pop punk sound of the late aughts. Lyrically, it's about the excitement of music. "With this track, we were chasing the feeling of when you discovered your new favorite song,” guitarist Mike Carden explains via press release. He says the song "reminds us of LimeWire era vibes; finally finding that song that takes you by surprise, a very distinct feeling. We wanted it to hit and pull you straight in."
"Miracle" is the second single off Almost There, following January's release of "2005".
The Academy Is... begin another round of their Almost Here: 20th Anniversary tour in April, playing their debut record in full in cities across the US. Tickets are available now.
