Today, Suede (also stylized as The London Suede) announced their tenth studio album Antidepressants. The forthcoming record will be their fifth project after their 2013 reunion, and it will be released on September 5 via BMG.
The UK rock band also shared their lead single, "Disintegrate", and uploaded an accompanying music video. Watch/listen to the new track below:
"Disintegrate", as well as the rest of Antidepressants, was produced by Ed Bueller, BrooklynVegan reports. The London-based recording artist first collaborated with Suede for their debut Suede in 1993, now considered one of the defining albums of the Britpop era in rock history. Bueller also has production and engineering credits on Dog Man Star (1994), Coming Up (1996), and the band's most recent record, Autofiction (2022).
Antidepressants aims to be Suede's interpretation of post-punk, says front man Brett Anderson. “It’s about the tensions of modern life, the paranoia, the anxiety, the neurosis. We are all striving for connection in a disconnected world. This was the feel I wanted the songs to have," he added. "This is broken music for broken people.”
