Today, the experimental folk duo @ ('At') have shared their new single, "Punish My Mind." It will appear on their forthcoming record Autosmile, out October 16 via 4AD. The track also comes with a music video shot and edited by member Stone Flipczak.

"'Punish My Mind’ is a chill song about self-torture that’s maybe the oldest recording on the album," says the band via press release. Layering Victoria Rose and Flipczak's duetted harmonies over soothing, Beach Boys-inspired acoustic guitars — disrupting the placid rhythm with abrasive monkey howls and bubbling woodwinds — the two knot punishing and comforting together, seeking both in self-destructive ways in order to stimulate the senses. Noting its intricate arrangement, the band added: "It has a fat wind arrangement and a lot of vocal harmonies. We hope you like it.”

The accompanying music video was shot entirely through a GoPro attached to Flipczak's helmet, capturing his point of view as he bikes through his home town of Philadelphia at sunset.

"Punish My Mind" follows the release of the 7-minute-long title track, "Autosmile."

@ will be going on tour later this year to promote Autosmile. Supporting both YHWH Nailgun and This Is Lorelei on their respective album tours, they'll be traveling to select cities across North America. The avant-folk duo will then embark on a brief headlining EU/UK tour later in November. Tickets are available now.
