Scott Fair, the producer and guitarist behind Mandy, Indiana, has announced the release of his new side project set dressing.
The debut EP, i can't be alone tonight, is ready to drop on April 11 via Fire Talk.
Along with the EP reveal, Fair has given us a new single called "date line", accompanied by a quirky music video created by Gretchen Krueger that employs a retro-styled 3D animated vibe featuring toys, instruments, and colorful motifs throughout. Check it out below:
"date line" is the second track released from i can't be alone tonight, following the earlier single, "class valedictorian", revealed last month. Speaking about the video, Fair noted he and Krueger "felt that there was a dark undercurrent to this track that was being masked by a sugary, day-glo coat of paint. The song and visual explore how bright plastic packaging can distract from more sinister or harmful intentions."
Set Dressing has a few UK shows lined up, if you're in the area:
04/12 Manchester, UK @ P3 Annihilation Eve (Formerly O! Peste Destroyed) (Basement)
05/04 Salford, UK @ Sounds From The Other City Festival
