Royel Otis release "car" single and music video following announcement of sophomore album

A day after announcing their sophomore record hickey, Australian rock duo Royel Otis shared their new single and second promotional track, "car." Listen to the new song below:

The band first debuted "car" live at their 2025 Governors Ball setlist earlier this month, following a series of teases at their New York and Los Angeles pop-up shop events. This song follows "moody", a slacker-rock inspired tune off hickey that debuted last month.

"car" was written by members Royel Maddell and Otis Pavlovic, while Blake Slatkin (Omar Apollo, Gracie Abrams, Wallows) and Omer Fedi (Lil Nas X, SZA, The Kid Laroi) are credited as producers.

After completing their scheduled performances at music festivals throughout the summer, Royel Otis will be embarking on a headlining tour across North America and Europe. DANCER and bby will join them as support for select dates. Still Blank will open for the two during the European leg of the tour. Tickets are available now, with some events already sold out.
