Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes announces first solo acoustic tour

Hot off some truly extensive touring with his main gig Fleet Foxes, singer-songwriter Robin Pecknold is now setting his sights on a new adventure: his first solo acoustic tour.

Cheekily titled the First (Last?) Solo Acoustic Tour, the 9-show jaunt will take Pecknold across the US, starting in New York before ending things in Oregon. Pecknold has played solo shows before, but the last time Pecknold played solo as part of a legitimate tour was when he opened for Joanna Newsom in 2010.

In Spring of 2023, Fleet Foxes held a concert with a secret opener that ended up being Newsom, where she debuted several new (and as-yet-unreleased) songs. Then, in spring of this year, Newsom played several shows in Los Angeles (where she debuted a couple more new songs), with Pecknold (and Amber Coffman) on backing vocals.

Tickets go on sale Friday, August 9 at 10am local time.

In the meantime, check out Pecknold singing "Grown Ocean" solo way back in 2010:
