In an Instagram video posted on June 30, Japanese-British pop artist Rina Sawayama says she's written "40 to 50 songs, with maybe more ideas."
This bit of information which she so casually dropped comes nearly four years since her last album, 2022's Hold the Girl.
Details were understandably vague, but along with writing, Sawayama detailed working with numerous producers in studio sessions that included recording vocals.
Though Sawayama has yet to officially announce an album, she clarified the process of writing these songs occurred while preparing for her role in the upcoming John Wick spin-off film, Caine. Sawayama made her acting debut in a feature film in 2023's John Wick: Chapter 4.
