Television co founder Richard Lloyd has died at the age of 75. Lloyd was diagnosed with Cholangiocarcinoma earlier this year and died at his home in Chattanooga.

Born in Pittsburg, Lloyd learned to play the guitar when he was a teenager and would help form Television in 1973. The band would have a pivotal influence on the New York punk rock scene, regularly playing at CBGBs.

Lloyd contributed to songs like “Marquee Moon” and ”See No Evil,” and worked on all three of Television’s albums. He would also release 9 solo studio albums.

He would leave Television in 2007 to continue his solo career. He is survived by his son Dylan.
