Britpop legends Pulp are never done giving us more. Today, the band shared three new singles, including a synth pop cover of Johnny Cash’s “The Man Comes Around”.
“The Man Comes Around” is out via Rough Trade as a single, and it comes with two original songs as B-sides: “Marrying For Love” and “Cold Call on the Hot Line”.

Pulp released More, their first album in 24 years, on June 6, 2025, catalyzing a studio return that would quickly make up for lost time with new material. “Marrying For Love” and “Cold Call on the Hot Line”, while similar to the record’s slow and sensual synth pop, never made it onto the record.
In Pulp fashion, these new songs are steeped in eroticism and set to an easy listening beat. “Marrying For Love”, continuing Cocker‘s lyrical themes of understanding romance and connection explored on More, bursts into ecstatic shouts after the vocalist monologues in a manic speech-singing about “erotic rebirth” and the postponement of the end of the world. “Cold Call on the Hot Line”, another sultry song about love realization folded into a long distance call motif, also has the singer-songwriter monologuing to an even more retro electronica melody.
The “The Man Comes Around” single, including the B-sides, are out everywhere now via Rough Trade.
