Earlier today, Mark Ronson and RAYE shared their brand new song, "SUZANNE". The new, jazz-infused track was written for the 150th anniversary of the Audemars Piguet luxury watch company, of which both artists serve as music ambassadors.
RAYE and Ronson co-wrote the new song alongside Tommy Brenneck and Eric Hagstrom. Watch/listen to "Suzanne" below:
Reflecting on her collaboration with the hit producer, RAYE commented that working with Ronson felt like it was "meant to be," per a press release.
"I used to work in Mark Ronson’s London studio when I was a baby artist focusing on my songwriting craft, and always dreamed of the day I could one day work with the musical genius that is Ronson."
After hearing his instrumental sections — which feature a lively brass band at the heart of a jazz pop tune — she immediately named the track "Suzanne", dedicating it to the Audremars and Piguet's family ancestor, per the brand's website.
Ronson adds:
"I’ve admired RAYE’s artistry for years now, watching her evolution from songwriter to the powerhouse artist she’s become. When Audemars Piguet brought us together through their APxMusic program, it felt like the stars were aligning at exactly the right moment.”
The two will also release another collaborative song, "Grandma Calls The Boy Bad News". on June 27 for the F1 film's official soundtrack. RAYE is credited as writer and vocalist, and Ronson produced the track. Preorder here.
