Ratboys release new single, "What's Right?"

Following two singles bursting with punk eccentricity, the Chicago indie rock band Ratboys are back today with a new track: "What's Right?", the third single off their forthcoming album, Singin' To An Empty Chair, out February 6 via New West Records.

Watch/listen to the official lyric video, made by band member Marcus Nuccio, for "What's Right?" below:

Drawing inspiration from The War On Drugs and the film Thelma and Louise, the band approached "What's Right?" like an experiment. Recording and stitching together three different drum takes, all in different sound environments, the band attempted to capture "some dramatic scene changes within the song,” per Julia Steiner.

"The back half of the song came to me in a dream and remains one of the few times that I've had the presence of mind to record an idea immediately upon waking," she adds. "Most of the lyrics and melody came out in that moment, and for that I'm still mystified and extremely grateful."

Ratboys will begin their tour for Singin' To An Empty Chair next February, travelling to cities across the US and Canada. They will be supported by Florry, villagerrr, and Free Range throughout. Tickets are available now.
