Phantogram announce fifth album 'Memory of a Day' along with new single "Come Alive"

Phantogram have announced that their fifth album, titled Memory of a Day, will be released on 18 October through a new partnership with revered alt. pop label Neon Gold. Established in 2008, the NYC-based label has been instrumental in the success of Charli XCX, Christine & the Queens, MARINA, and Haim, to name just a few.

Memory of a Day finds lifelong friends Sarah Berthel and Josh Carter getting back to their electronic pop roots. Co-produced with Grammy-winning producer John Hill (whose many credits include Carly Rae Jepson and Foals), the 12-track album is preceded by the singles "All A Mystery", and "Happy Again". Now they've released a brand new single, "Come Alive". Listen below:

In a press release accompanying the album announcement, Phantogram explain that "Come Alive" was inspired by the idea of "looking at life like a calendar," saying:

"Our good friend Dan Wilson sat down with us and brainstormed different interpretations of a life calendar and the fleeting nature of life. For us, 'Come Alive' is about embracing existence and recognizing how fragile life is. It’s about rolling with the punches, facing your fears, learning to cope with failures and success, pain and joy, addiction and connection. There are new days and new ways of turning into stone, and there are new ways to come alive.”
