Today, Pavement announced that they will be releasing a new compilation record, Hecklers Choice: Big Gums and Heavy Lifters, out physically on November 14 via Matador Records. (It is available for digital streaming now.)

The record, released fifteen years after their first "Best Of" installment Quarantine The Past, now revisits the band's catalog and spotlights the once-hidden gems that have gained massive popularity among fans.

There are some repeats on Hecklers Choice from Quarantine The Past, like "Date w/ IKEA", "Shady Lane", "Gold Soundz", and "Spit on a Stranger", for instance – it wouldn't be a greatest hits Pavement album without these classics. Notably, however, while the new compilation pares down a selection of 23 tracks to just 12, two new songs enter the roster: "Major Leagues", which originally appeared on the eponymous 1999 EP, and viral hit "Harness Your Hopes".

Alongside the Hecklers Choice announcement, Pavement also announced that the PAVEMENTS (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) will also be physically released on November 14. Weaving together audio snippets, live and rehearsal recordings from the group’s 2021 reunion tour, scenes from the fake Range Life "biopic," and cast recordings from director Alex Ross Perry's Slanted! Enchanted! jukebox musical, the double-LP was compiled by the band and producer/editor Robert Greene. Bryce Goggin, who has credits on Crooked Rain Crooked Rain, Wowee Zowee, and Brighten the Corners, mixed the band's live performances for the record.
