Paul Simon makes triumphant return to the stage with Quiet Celebration Tour

Paul Simon announced Tuesday that he will be making a return to the stage after his 2018 farewell tour. The Quiet Celebration Tour will be an intimate show at smaller venues, built around is 2023 album Seven Psalms.

Simon shared in 2023 that he had lost "most of the hearing" in his left ear, making a return to performing that much more unlikely. He played a small set to an audience of about 150 people last September in New York, but this will be his first major outing since 2018. Simon worked with the Stanford Initiative to Cure Hearing Loss to develop a new stage setup that would make live performance possible again.

Most recently, Simon, with Sabrina Carpenter, opened SNL's 50th anniversary special with an intimate duet of the Simon and Garfunkel song "Homeward Bound"

The Quiet Celebration Tour is set to kick off in New Orleans on April 4th, with tickets going on sale this Friday, February 21st at 10 AM local time.
