Namasenda announces debut record 'Limbo', shares "Miami Crest"

The Swedish avant-pop artist Namasenda returns today to announce her debut record, Limbo. The album will be out May 8 via Year0001. The artist also shared the new single, "Miami Crest".

Listen to "Miami Crest" below:

"Miami Crest" is dance pop to the extreme, laying her close-cut, airy vocals over a throbbing, trance beat moving at light speed. It closely follows the release of "Cola", a hypnotic single and Namasenda's first since 2023.

Like the new single, Limbo aims to bring the dancefloor to pop, balancing the singer's direct and at-times humorous lyrics with a sharp, pulsing beat. Namasenda wrote the album over a period of two years, drawn to capturing spontaneous bursts of creativity — a loss of creativity and control that allowed her to take a more stream of consciousness beatmaking approach. This debut record "does not ask for permission," according to the artist, "detonating personal experience into something ecstatic, confrontational and universal."

Namasenda emerged in 2021 with Unlimited Ammo, an avant-pop mixtape released through the PC Music label. Now, she's making her Year0001 debut, returning to the Swedish experimental scene with Limbo.
